Delete Your Account

At Charity Exchange, we respect your privacy and provide you with the ability to request deletion of your account and personal information.

If you no longer wish to use Charity Exchange, you can initiate an account deletion request directly from the Charity Exchange mobile app.

How to Delete Your Account

  1. Open the Charity Exchange mobile app.
  2. Sign in to your account.
  3. Tap Profile from the bottom navigation.
  4. Open Settings.
  5. Tap Delete Account.
  6. Review the account deletion information.
  7. Tap Confirm Delete Account.

What Happens When You Delete Your Account?

When your account is deleted, personal information that is no longer required for legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, or other legitimate compliance purposes will be deleted or anonymized.

This may include:

  • Profile information
  • Profile photo
  • Account preferences and settings
  • Saved addresses, where applicable
  • Messages and notifications associated with your account
  • Other personal information that is not required to be retained

Your account will no longer remain active or available for normal use.

Information We May Be Required to Retain

Charity Exchange and its affiliated charitable foundations may be required by applicable laws and regulations to retain certain records even after an account has been deleted.

This may include:

  • Donation and transaction records
  • Tax receipt records
  • Financial and accounting records
  • Records required for regulatory or tax compliance
  • Records required for audits
  • Records required for fraud prevention or security
  • Records required for dispute resolution
  • Other information that we are legally required to retain

Where information must be retained, it should only be retained for the applicable legal or regulatory retention period and should not remain available as an active user account.

Once the applicable retention period expires, information that is no longer required should be deleted or anonymized in accordance with our data retention practices.

Processing Your Account Deletion

After an account deletion request is submitted:

  • Access to the account will be terminated.
  • Personal information that is not required to be retained will be deleted or anonymized.
  • Records that must be retained for legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, security, or compliance purposes will be securely retained for the required period.
  • Retained information will not be used for normal account activity or marketing purposes.
